Project Update

Supporting business recovery is a key priority for Council. A healthy and thriving business community is crucial for our local economy, and it allows residents to easily access goods and services close to home.

We have developed a draft Retail Activation Strategy in collaboration with our business community. Our draft Retail Activation Strategy aims to inject new life and energy into our retail centres.

We want to help retailers:

  • increase foot traffic
  • explore new trading opportunities for businesses
  • create exciting retail experiences for local residents and visitors

Business owners and community members are invited to share their thoughts on the draft strategy.


How to submit your feedback

To share your feedback, you can either:

  • complete the online survey
  • attend an online feedback session
  • send a written submission marked ‘Draft Retail Activation Strategy’ by:
    • emailing business@knox.vic.gov.au or,
    • writing to City Futures, Knox City Council (no stamp required), Reply Paid 70243, Wantirna South VIC 3152.

Retail Activation Strategy Themes

The draft strategy is centred around building on Knox’s unique character and core strengths. Proposed actions have been divided into 5 themes, and include a range of initiatives that are Council led, or delivered in partnership with industry, business and community organisations.

Online feedback sessions

There will be four online feedback sessions during the communication engagement period. Two sessions will be for community members to hear more about the draft Retail Activation Strategy to ask questions and provide feedback. Two sessions will be run for business and community organisations and will focus on the delivery component of the strategy.
