New dog park and upgraded playground
Thank you to all residents, stakeholders, and community members who provided feedback during the consultation phase for the draft Wantirna Reserve Dog Park and Playspace Upgrade*. Based on the feedback received, the final concept has been developed to reflect the community's interests, featuring a new dog park, an upgraded neighbourhood-level playspace, and a new swale to improve site drainage.
*This project is supported by the Victorian Government
through the New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program.
Project delivery is expected to commence in mid-2025 and be completed by the end of the year. The current playground will be decommissioned between late May and June, and will reopen upon completion of construction.
Wantirna Reserve Masterplan
The dog park and upgraded playground is part of the Wantirna Reserve Masterplan. The Wantirna Reserve Masterplan was endorsed in March 2024 and is part of the Knox Capital Works Program and Council’s commitment to upgrade ageing infrastructure. The Masterplan sets the strategic direction and provides a framework for planning and delivery of upgrades and new capital works projects to meet the current and future needs of the community. Read more about the development of the Masterplan, including past community engagement.
