Murals now complete

Following community feedback the two murals have now been delivered.

Survey results showed that 72% of respondents favoured a refreshed design, while 28% supported a full restoration.

Council engaged local artist Christian Vine to deliver a refreshed version of the mural that honours the essence of the original artwork while bringing a new creative energy to the space.

Marie Wallace Bayswater Reserve water tank

Council invited visitors to Marie Wallace Bayswater Park to share their thoughts on the future reimagining of the water tank at the playground. The existing mural had reached the end of its life and was ready for a refresh. The Creative Placemaking team decommissioned the old artwork and invited the community to help shape the new one.

Through the Have Your Say survey, the community was asked what themes and style of artwork they prefer. Survey results showed 59% of respondents favoured interactive elements, with biodiversity being a popular theme with a positive connection between the mural and the playground.

Council engaged artist Angharad Neal-Williams to deliver a refreshed playful new mural together with the interactive signage for the community to explore.
