Council invited local traders, residents, and visitors to share their thoughts on the future of the Chandler Oak mural, located on the exterior wall of Rainy Day Books (1301 Mountain Highway, The Basin).

Through the Have Your Say survey, the community was asked whether they would prefer to restore the mural and preserve its original design or refresh it with a more contemporary approach.

Survey results showed that 72% of respondents favoured a refreshed design, while 28% supported a full restoration.

In response, Council has engaged local artist Christian Vine to deliver a refreshed version of the mural that honours the essence of the original artwork while bringing a new creative energy to the space.

The mural will be refreshed during June 2025.
