We’ve been working with the Knox Hockey Club since 2017 in an effort to identify an alternative location to its current facilities at the Knox School. This is a challenging task as all Knox’s active reserves are already highly utilised.

Benedikt Reserve is one of several locations that has been explored and assessed.

Possible upgrades could include:

  • a synthetic hockey field on the former lacrosse and junior football/cricket ground
  • upgrading the existing sports lighting with highly efficient LED units that focus light on the field and prevent light spill into surrounding properties
  • increased off street car parking capacity on the former tennis courts
  • redevelopment or replacement of the existing sports pavilion
Community feedback will be incorporated into a report to Council that will inform future decision making about whether Benedikt Reserve is an appropriate site to upgrade and accommodate the Knox Hockey Club.
