Thank you for providing feedback on naming ideas for the new ashes interment area at Ferntree Gully Cemetery.

On 29 August, Council considered the feedback received and adopted the name, ‘The Gateway’ for the ashes interment area. This name was recommended by Officers based on it being the most supported name by participants of the community engagement.

The alternative names we received during consultation will be considered for any future naming opportunities that may arise in the Cemetery.

We are exploring options to engage on a more regular basis with people who have an interest in the operation of the Cemetery.
