Community engagement overview
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the draft parking management plan for The Basin.
We engaged with the community over a four-week period from 6 November to 4 December 2025. We sought feedback on whether the draft parking management plan reflects community needs and preferences. A total of 142 responses were received.
Based on the feedback received, we have updated the draft The Basin Parking Management Plan with the following new recommendations:
- Investigate potential indented parking strip (or bays) on the north side of Church Street and propose no parking on the south side of Church Street.
- Updates to reflect the recent conversion of several existing car parking spaces in The Basin Triangle Car Park into electric vehicle (EV) charging bays.
- Refinements to no stopping restrictions at locations with identified road safety concerns, including the bend on Conyers Street and near the roundabout on The Basin–Olinda Road.
These changes aim to balance parking demand, road safety, and access for all users while responding directly to issues raised by the community.
A summary of community engagement and the draft parking management plan are available in the Council meeting agenda.
