Consultation is now closed.

We are proposing some minor parking changes in The Basin Triangle to improve safety and accessibility in the local area.

The draft plan was developed following community engagement in early 2021. We also conduct an independent parking study to further analyse car parking occupancy and duration to develop draft plan.

Proposed changes include

  • Introducing one accessible car space near the post office to improve accessibility
  • Providing a bicycle rack to meet cyclist needs in the area
  • Improving safety by installing ‘No Stopping’ signage where it is unsafe to park
  • Advocating to Department of Transport and Planning about on-street parking and road safety matters

Council is responsible for effectively managing parking to ensure it is fair, equitable, accessible and safe for our community. The draft plan outlines strategies and actions on how we do this.

Update on The Basin Masterplan

In June 2022, community engagement was undertaken for the Draft The Basin Masterplan. After reviewing community feedback, the majority of participants expressed that the parklands was functioning well. As a result, Council is not proceeding with the development of the Masterplan for The Basin to implement changes. For more information visit The Basin Masterplan Have your say page.
