The Ferntree Gully Creative Placemaking Plan was delivered by Council in partnership with the Victorian Government. Council contributed $130,000 towards the project and received $110,000 through the Victorian Government’s Living Local Fund Suburban Grants program.
The Creative Placemaking Plan commenced in April 2022 and the final artworks were installed in June 2024. The development of this project was supported through consultation in the early stages with community members contributing to the development of the plan.
Council would like to thank all community members for their support of the project.
The community told us they wanted to see:
- Improve community safety through pedestrian walkways
- Increase positive connection to place for Ferntree Gully residents, visitors and traders
- Use the arts to beautify and create interest in Ferntree Gully Village
- Encourage footfall through the trade precinct and support activation
- Attract and retain business in Ferntree Gully
Council would like you to provide feedback on the outcomes achieved through the Ferntree Gully Placemaking Plan. Your responses will help us to better understand how the public art activations have improved the Village environment.
