Tormore Reserve pavilion is set to undergo a transformation that will breathe new life into the beloved sporting facility - and we want to hear your thoughts.
The existing Masterplan, adopted by Council in 2016, proposed a significant revamp to the pavilion, making it a modern and inclusive hub for sports and community activities.
Following advocacy from Boronia Hawks Football/Netball and Boronia Cricket Clubs, this project has received $1.2m via a State Government funding grant. Federal Government funding of $5m is currently in the application process. If successful, a total budget of $6.2M will be received over a three-year period for the delivery of this project.
No Council rates are being contributed.
The new facility will include:
- Inclusive change rooms and toilets, including female changerooms to promote diverse and equal participation in sport
- Improved social spaces, with the inclusion of a social, multi-purpose room and viewing platform
- Meeting room and office space for official use
- Expanded storage space
- Fully refurbished kitchen, kiosk and bar
The proposed redevelopment will provide improved amenities for the existing clubs and includes a refurbishment of the existing pavilion with an addition of a second storey.
Additionally, the project will deliver significant environmental benefits consistent with Council’s Sustainable Buildings and Infrastructure Policy.
Consultation closed on Sunday 24 September 2023.
