Planning a new heart of Knox
We are planning for the transformation of Council land located between Burwood Highway and Lewis Park, next to Westfield Knox.
- It will deliver much needed housing including apartments and townhouses, close to shops, services and local employment.
- The area will feature high quality open and green spaces to relax and recreate, located next to Blind Creek with views to the Dandenong Ranges.
- There will be improved access for everyone, within walking distance of Westfield Knox and the Burwood Highway bus network and will include bicycle and walking paths.
Draft Land Use Plan
The site is Council land and is approximately 9 hectares in size, and includes Council's Civic Centre. The site has Westfield Knox Shopping Centre to the west, light industrial/commercial uses to the east, Lewis Park and Blind Creek to the north, and Burwood Highway to the south.
Council has prepared a draft Land Use Plan to inform and guide the planning and development of the site. The staged redevelopment of the site over the next 20 years will help realise the vision of this precinct as a vibrant and an attractive destination.
