We invite the Bayswater community to have your say on a proposed upgrade to the sportsfield lighting at Guy Turner Reserve. This project is earmarked for delivery in 2022/23 and will see the installation of 4 new light towers, each containing numerous LED energy-efficient light fittings.
The proposed works at Guy Turner Reserve follow on from recent sportsfield lighting upgrades to other soccer and football facilities that are part of a broader plan to deliver high-quality training and match facilities to the Knox community.
These enhancements to Guy Turner reserve aim to improve safety for players and encourage greater participation in soccer for all. It also reflect our ongoing commitment to improve sporting facilities for the community.
The proposed upgrade will be funded in partnership through Council's Structured Sporting Facilities Capital Works Program and potential grants received from external parties. The objectives of the works are:
- to provide a facility that meets the Australian Standard for soccer training and match activities
- ensuring negative impacts of spill and glare are reduced for neighbouring residents
