We are seeking feedback from the Boronia community on a proposed upgrade to the lighting on both greens at the Boronia Bowls Club. This project is planned for delivery in 2022/23 and will see the installation of six new light towers, each containing one or two energy-efficient LED light fittings (eight total).

We anticipate that the proposed upgrade will be funded in partnership through our Structured Sporting Facilities Capital Works Program and potential grants received from external parties. Boronia Bowls Club is also set to contribute financially towards the project.

Upgrading the existing lights will ensure the club meets the Australian Standard for lawn bowls training and match activities. The project planning will consider negative impacts of spill and glare from the lights and ensure they are reduced for neighbouring residents.

These enhancements aim to improve safety for players and encourage greater participation in lawn bowls for all. They reflect our ongoing commitment to improve sporting facilities for the community.
