Key directions and strategies - survey
We've developed five draft key directions and some strategies based on your input. Take a look at them and tell us what you think...
Over the past 18 months we've been working with you to develop our new medium to long term plans.
We're working on a Community Plan, which includes our Community Vision that describes our community's aspirations for the future and what we need to focus on over the next 10 years to get there. Our Council Plan is a four year plan that describes what Council will do to contribute to achieving our vision.
Our ten year Financial Plan and Budget ensure we have the right resources to deliver on our plans and help our residents, businesses and community organisations continue to rebuild and engage in community life.
We need your help to continue the development of these plans. Click the 'follow this project' button above to keep up to date with our work and find out when you can have your say.
During 2020, we asked you how we can work with you to make Knox a great place now and for years to come.
Based on what we heard, we drafted several vision statements that capture the essence of what you hope Knox will be like in the future. Over the last few weeks, you’ve had the opportunity to vote for your preferred vision statement.
Almost half of the votes we received felt the following statement best reflects our community’s aspirations for the future of Knox:
Timeline item 1 - complete
Review of the current plan
A review was undertaken of the current Community and Council Plan 2017-2021 which is due to expire on 30 June 2021.
Timeline item 2 - active
Conversations with the community
We want to hear from as many people as possible about the future of Knox - developing our vision, working out what our priorities are, and discussing how we can all contribute to making Knox a great place, now and in the future.
Timeline item 3 - active
Creating the plans
Based on conversations with our community, we'll draft a 10 year Community Plan and a 4 year Council Plan. We will again seek your input and feedback on these draft plans.
Find out what we discussed in a series of focus groups held in November, and the Community Forum held on 1 December 2020.
See here what we heard in the September Community Forums
