As part of the consultation process for Boronia Renewal Strategy, the community told us that improving safety and mobility in central Boronia was important. To meet this need we’re upgrading the path along Genista Avenue and Chandler Road, to Albert Avenue, creating a wider shared path to make it easier to access local facilities or enjoy a simple walk or bike ride.
We’re also planting more trees along the shared path route and improving Chandler Road, making it safer for cars and public transport.
We will be undertaking construction works across three stages:
- Stage 1 – approximately December 2024 to early 2025
Shared cycling and pedestrian path redevelopment from Tormore Reserve, along Genista Avenue and Chandler Road to Dorset Road.
- Stage 2 – approximately early 2025 to late 2025
Shared cycling and pedestrian path redevelopment and road renewal works along Chander Road from Dorset Road, to Albert Avenue.
- Stage 3 – approximately 2026/2027
Landscaping and tree planting along Genista Avenue and Chandler Road, from Dorset Road through to Albert Avenue.
There is an illustrated map below that shows the location of each stage.
During construction there will be temporary disruptions and access changes. We are keen to know what we can do to minimise disruptions, keep construction areas safe, and help you continue with your daily activities and access to and from your home and business. We would also like your feedback to plan the construction schedule for stage 2.
